as elegant as the show itself.
Rubirosa is a Dominican period drama series produced for Claro Video, set in the glamorous and politically charged world of the 1950s. The brief was to design a complete physical box set that could stand alone as a collector’s item, capturing the visual world of the show before the viewer even pressed play.
A box set for a period drama carries a specific responsibility: it needs to feel like an artefact from the world it represents, not just packaging. Every detail, texture, typography, character placement, and print finish, had to evoke the elegance and intrigue of mid-century Latin America without feeling like a generic DVD release.
The design kept the retro aesthetic of the show as its north star. Textured backgrounds were chosen to evoke the era — worn, rich, and cinematic — giving each piece a tactile quality that photographs as well as it prints. The principal characters were used to divide the individual CD chapters, giving each disc its own identity within the larger system and rewarding the collector who handles the set piece by piece. Typography and gold detailing reinforced the period setting throughout.

A complete box set delivered as print-ready masters and print plans across box packaging, CD disc artwork, booklet layout, and chapter dividers, all prepared for physical production. Built in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
